Anatomy of Leadership Readiness

Recently, as a part of my MBA- program course (leadership readiness), our group was asked to work an e-book. The title being “Anatomy of Leadership Readiness”. The course itself is very much new in the local academia let alone in the country. Infact searching the internet for material on this particular course is also futile. Then why teach such a course?

The course is being led by Wali Zahid, a professional trainer for trainers and atleast in my opinion a guru in leadership, conflict management, change management and other management related courses / trainings. He has been doing so for the past 15 + years.

Coming back to the point, why teach this course. There have been a lot of books written on what a leader does, how it turns around nations, organizations and groups to lead from the front and bring in true follwership. Googling for the term “leadership” will reveal a staggering results of 164 million. The course Leadership Readiness is all about what makes a leader. It is a prologue to leadership. What prepares an individual to be ready for such a role.

We have had lots of brainstorming sessions on various aspects of readiness. The term itself comes from the military side i suppose just like strategy in coursess like “strategic management”.

Anatomy of Leadership Readiness is a model we discussed, which focuses on the various physical parts of a leaders body. How they behave and work in an individual to bring out a true leader and prepare him / her for the role. The book is being worked upon and the link shall be posted here as soon as work is completed on it.
