Keep your feet on the ground..

I used to hear the phrase “Keep your feet on the ground and Keep reaching for the stars” .. by a very famous RJ of FM 100 .. yes Akbar Shahbaz. His voice used to wake up thousands if not millions every morning in the early days of FM100.

I never realized the true essence of this quote / phrase. I only thought that it related to achieving what you can in life in the best possible manner. I was never concerned with the 1st half of the phrase. One reason being I was a bit younger that time and away from the usual wrongs of life.

Now I understand, “Keep your feet on the ground” - means where ever you go what ever you do, do not forget where you belong, what you love, what you care for most. Do not forget who brought you up and stood by you in all times, stayed up in all darkness to comfort you.

I wish I had understood the meaning earlier in life.
