Wondering what this is about?
I was flattered by a call from Link.net marketing guy when he called up in early Apr 08. I explained how the Co’ has improved its network infrastructure in my area and an extended modem (read router) will be deployed at my place to cater to the distance problem between exchange and my place. He confirmed that other customers in my area have started using it and are satisfied.
Having paid an extra 100 rupees for a 512Kbps connection, which the collection executive promptly picked up from my place, I was finally delivered a paradyne modem (router). In a weeks time i was calling up the tech guys at link.net to get the modem installed and line checked for my place. Finally when the tech guy came in the modem could not sync. And this happened exactly because of the distance factor.
To my disbelief, the tech guy hadnt checked the line and distance issues. The 4th day he calls up and tells me due to distance problem only 128kbp is possible. I declined and asked for connection withdrawl and refund.
I was disgusted and furious, but this was just the trailer of antics that link.net was to play further. After couple of days from withdrawal request, i get a call from sales lady (probably) offering 128kbps for a less amount / month. I said loud “NO” and asked her to confirm my withdrawal request.
I was told the refund the modem collection would be done in 10 -12 working days.
My friends it is exactly 1 month since the first withdrawal request. To date I have done numerous complaints to this Co’s helpline, sales guys / girls, visited the F-5 office and screamed for a contact in Lahore head office higher up, but to no avail. I even threatened to sell the modem in market, but again no effect. No refund, no modem pickup.
In the mean time I got a new phone connection done (this time on fibre) and the DSL connection of PTCL.
I am yet to see a pathetic company of the likes of Link.net. I wonder how the Co’ shall manage its brand with such kind of customer service!

I have my story, I decided a DSL connectionLindotNet (assuming one DSL connection is as good as any) on 3rd of July, the person came immediately to collect the payment with nothing to give in return. My modem arrive separately via courier on the 9th of July. Now what was I going to do with modem which I do not know how to use? I did not open package and waited patiently for someone to install On the 14th of July I had to tell off the sales staff to send some technician. Because I had created such a fuss the technician arrived and installed the modem to my computer and attached the other cable to the phone line. At that time I did not check my phone. The technician showed me that the DSL was working perfectly. But now I had a phone problem. I had to remove the DSL cable from the phone line and attach my phone to the phone line. I reported the problem the technicians came and were completely confused. The matter of the phone line being free was sorted out. The DSL was working perfectly fine then it stopped working on 28th Jully a number of technicians promised me all kinds of thing and were completely how to sort out my problem . For about twelve days onwards this problem continue and I had to make several calls to LinkdotNet. That problem was resolved. On August 15 the modem is working perfectly – but I cannot browse – I am told to do different things nothing worked then the techician told me uninstall my Lan card restart the computer the computer will find the Lan card and resinstall it – so far my problems have gone but I don’t know for how long things will remain steady.

What you mentioned is true of any large ISP, even in developed countries. Main difference for Pakistan is the addition of a poor infrastructure and even worse ways of handling customers.

Every Single comment i have read here i m agreed. I am dealing with LINKdotNET when it used to be WOL. The main reason LINKdotNET is not be able to give you proper Customer support they are receiving their Support calls in lahore and after that they forward client request to consult city support through software and it not used to be like this. before LINKdotNET WOL and DANCOM used to deal their sales and support locally in every city. So thats how sales and support team used to make their own personal relation to client and give them support out of the way some time after office hours on weekend and so on. What i believe that practice was great Customer was happy.
Fellows believe me this is the reason i can write a book here on support of LINKdotNET but i dont want to because i know no one listen, read and care.
Why i am so confident about my words because i am one of them i dont know how i got this page and just start writing if some one wanna contact with me plz write an email raza.hyder@gmail.com
